I’m just an old dude making some art. I’m not a professional and I usually just paint or draw whatever interests me at the time. I love you create pretty much everything. I paint and draw, I paint miniatures, do some carpentry and play the drums and DJ from time to time.

I’ve been drawing for over 45 years, my Mother loves to tell stories about me carrying around my little art bin where ever I went. Through the years my drawing dropped off as life happened and as such my art skills did as well. I’d still do a few things a year but moved over to painting miniatures. When I hit 50 I really wanted to push into art and get my skill leveled back up but I’m really pushing this year. I’m still pretty solid with pencil and inks but my internal references have definitely weakened. I’m trying to work with many other mediums; gauche, watercolors, oil, acrylic, markers, color pencils and digital. My goal is to improve in all mediums and just have fun playing around with them.

I’m mainly using this site and all the effort as motivation. I’ve come to the realization that I have a difficult time staying motivated. After my daughter was diagnosed with some disorders It made me also reflect on my own behavior. I definitely have a touch of ADHD, I hyperfocus on things that have my interest at the time usually to the detriment of other things going on in my life. Also, If I don’t have a reason to do something or have a goal or deadline and/or doing something for someone else I really have no motivation. I came to that realization while painting miniatures, I never had a fully painted army until I decided to go to a tournament/convention. That gave me a reason and a deadline, allowing me to finish an army and working to improve my skills. So, I figured this might fit that bill to keep me motivated and circumvent my brains roadblocks.

People I know are always pushing me to sell some art but to be honest, I never really feel like it’s good enough, as many know, self doubt is a killer. Well, I guess I’ll figure that out here. Either way it’s not a big deal and if I sell some things or not it’s all good. Either way it will be motivation and as I’m getting older I do want to keep improving my skills.

I’m also working on a YouTube channel to go over my thoughts on art, working on art pieces and probably some comparisons of art materials I prefer. I’ll probably also put some miniature painting videos as I need to get some more table time in.
